ABOUT US

Wolf Track Films is an independent production company dedicated to creating authentic, cinematic natural history documentaries that explore the intersection between wildlife and human life. With a close working relationship with international distributor, Bomanbridge Media, Wolf Track Films produces high quality international television programmes for the screen, globally. Founded and directed by Rob Murray, Wolf Track Films brings together a network of skilled freelance filmmakers, united by a passion for powerful visual storytelling and conservation-driven narratives.

OUR WORK

The company’s work blends striking cinematography with compelling, character-led storytelling – capturing not just the beauty and importance of the natural world, but the people who live and work alongside it. Their debut feature documentary, Valley of the Bears, exemplifies this approach. The film investigates human-bear conflict in British Columbia’s Bella Coola Valley, offering a nuanced perspective on coexistence between humans and wildlife. Valley of the Bears was a finalist for the Jackson Wild Media Awards (2022) and went on to achieve international commercial success, securing three broadcast licensing deals across global markets.

Under Rob’s creative direction – an award-winning Wildlife Cinematographer and Self-Shooting Producer Director, who has collaborated with leading industry figures such as Oscar-winning director James Reed (My Octopus Teacher) and Executive Producer Wolfgang Knoepfler (The Ivory Game, Patrick and the Whale) – Wolf Track Films continues to develop and produce impactful, independent films that connect audiences to the natural world in fresh and meaningful ways. During the production of Valley of the Bears, Wolfgang Knoepfler came onboard as Executive Producer, along with Story Consultants, Steve Barnes and Matt Thompson. The documentary first premiered at the International Wildlife Film Festival in Missoula, Montana; hosting a special ‘living with bears’ panel with bear specialists, Conservation Officers and Conservationists. Valley of the Bears has since made commercial success by securing three international broadcast licensing deals.
